The ¤ is a currency sign, symbolic of what lies at the root of media iconics, i.e., economics, or capitalism. Without media iconics, people lose jobs, global corporations shut down, and terrorists lose their venue for the rhetorics of propaganda and persuasion, their opportunity to sway fenceriders, and the chance to inject code subliminality for audiences sympathetic to their global causes. So, on one hand, this symbol represents the economics of globalization, on the other, it is symbolic of the targeted assault by rogue terrorists on free economies. Exhorbitant financial profit continues to be the primary driving force behind all successful large-scale rhetorical human-Internet design and development.
