He's not just on the board at elance, but according to the C/Net article on the elance founder's charges of alleged fraud, he is a partner in Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, the big 'silent' backer for elance funding.

Looks like some of the people backing the company that's short on ethics might also be short on loose change?

And here is the biggest complaint -

I have had a person who is supposed to be on the 'Board' of elance - John Doerr - elance id 'jdoerr' who is not paying for a presentation I have done for him last week. Not even an acknowledgement that the work is recd. - let alone payment!! Is this indicative of things to come on elance? I hope not!!

Repeated emails to him have not got me any reply whatsoever. And, he awarded the project to one other person besides myself - so was it done only to get FREE work done?

Please note, none of my clients on elance has ever done something like this - and then, a 'DIRECTOR' of ELANCE does something like this!!??!!

UNBELIEVABLE !
